The publication of statistical indicators relating to the development of telecommunications/ICT worldwide is one of the primary functions of ITU. The 1997-2006 edition of the ITU Yearbook of Statistics (previously referred to as the "Yearbook of Public Telecommunication Statistics" or the "ITU Statistical Yearbook") will be the 34th edition.  Following edition (1999 - 2008).
