The Success Stories 2014 is a selection of projects implemented by WSIS Stakeholders. This publication aggregates several voluntary contributions from around the world that were collected during the year, and illustrates key lessons drawn from the management of these projects. By sharing these case studies, stakeholders are intending to facilitate transfer of knowledge, experiences and models for project implementation. Success Stories 2014 aim at encouraging the others to share their experiences from the WSIS implementation. The management of the challenges that have been overcome by a country can serve as a basis for other stakeholders facing similar situations and seeking for possible solutions. Even though some of the case studies included in this publication address very specific and country-oriented solutions, they can certainly be transposed and adapted to different contexts.

Capacity building: Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Programme

The United Arab Emirates is one amongst many nations seeking to reform and improve their education systems. The last decade has witnessed an extraordinary level of international education reform and a myriad of different approaches to the provision of education. Whilst many of these reforms have proven to be transient in nature, there has been a developing consensus that a paradigm shift is required in the provision of education to successfully meet the present and future social, political and economic needs of nations and the aspirations of learners.
