Service Concepts

A new generation of sound broadcasting systems is needed to provide reliable wide-area coverage and high-quality service to portable and vehicular receivers which are now becoming the major means of receiving radio services. Both satellite and terrestrial delivery means are considered feasible and desirable for this service. When both are provided it would be economic and practical for the general public to have access to both satellite and terrestrial services using a common receiver.
